Beryllium copper gaskets from TBA ECP now ROHS-compliant

EMI shielding specialist, TBA Electro Conductive Products (ECP)'s beryllium copper fingerstock gaskets for EMI shielding now meet the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS Directive).

The Directive banned the use of certain substances in new products from July 2006, specifically lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

TBA ECP's range of BeCu gaskets contains none of the banned substances and fully meets RoHS directive requirements. TBA ECP's beryllium copper fingerstock is available in different styles including clip-on, stick-on, snap-on, hook-on and special mounting types plus low profile and connectors gaskets all delivering high-shielding effectiveness.

Different plating options are also available including clean and bright, gold, silver, bright tin, bright nickel, zinc/clear chromate and electroless nickel among others. Beryllium copper shielding strips offer good spring qualities and long life.

Other important characteristics of BeCu gaskets include low closing forces and high attenuation exceeding 100dB for many styles. Complementing its range of beryllium copper shielding strips is TBA ECP's steel version of low-profile and pressure-sensitive mounting gaskets.
